Angels of the Lord carried our beautiful Brenda Porter, affectionately known as "Bigmomma," to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026. She was born on March 8, 1947, in Suffolk, Virginia, to the late Willie Mae and Willie Emanuel Wiggins.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her dear sister, Regina Durham.

Brenda was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk, Virginia, class of 1966. She worked as an electrician at BAE Systems and was also a talented seamstress at AD Bridal. Brenda had a passion for sewing, gardening, and staying active—she was always on the go. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Palm Tree Baptist Church for over 65 years.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted sister, Janet Boone(Samuel) her beloved children, Tracy Johnson, Alton Porter, and Bryan Porter; and her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Porter, Christopher Copeland, Aaliyah Ball, Alexis Ball, Jaquan Porter, Breyon Porter, and Keylin Porter. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Jhemere Porter, Jhordyn Porter, Jhayce Porter, Jade Copeland, Ahmonie Copeland, Christen Copeland, Ashton Vaughan, and Aeson Vaughan. She also leaves behind her loving Aunt Helen Eure, along with a host of caring relatives and dear friends.

Brenda touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, wisdom, and laughter have left a lasting imprint on our lives. Her love was truly a gift. Though she is no longer with us, her light continues to shine through all who loved her..

She will be deeply missed, and her beautiful memories will be cherished forever.

Visitation will be held on April 21, 2026 from 530pm-730pm .

Funeral services scheduled for Wednesday April 22, 2026 at Palm Tree Baptist Church 8165 Whaleyville Blvd. Suffolk , Va.

Interment will follow at  Carver  Memorial Cemetery.
