On Monday night, January 30, 2023, the Lord quietly touched Julia and peacefully took his beautiful and dedicated angel home.

Julia Mae Knight, age 74, the third child of the late Junious and Esther Knight, was born on July 6, 1948.

She graduated from Southwestern High School and worked as a short-order cook and clerk at Ralph Dukes Sandwich Shop for over 27 years. She also worked at McDonald's and was an enthusiastic Avon Sales Representative until her illness.

She professed Jesus Christ and was a long-time member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

She was a member of Missionary Lodge #2. She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching old TV shows and movies, talking on the phone, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, and traveling.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents, her son "Baby Boy," her brother Junious Wilbert Knight, and her sister Louise Wilcher.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a brother Wilbert Bernard Knight (Rhonda), nephews Timothy Knight, Ray Knight, and Wilbur Cross, and a host of great nieces and nephews. A very special cousin Randolph Chapman (Sharon); two Aunts, Helen Marie Demiel Williams and Catherine Demiel, a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves a very dedicated and special friend, and caretaker, Ms. Carletter Pollard.

The Family of Julia Mae Knight would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and Love during this time. We also want to thank the Anointed and Blessed Home Health Care staff.

Celebration of life will be Wednesday February 8, 2023 Noon Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1656 Copeland Rd.  Suffolk, Va.  Professional services entrusted with Peebles Funeral Home.
